Six months after the first post, I felt it was about time to give the OSGi Look a better shape. The blog, started just as a collection of links to OSGi-related news and posts, is starting to have a small but growing number of followers, especially since I started to post some original contents.
What better excuse to get a shiny new virtual private server?
After the good experience with Slicehost I was very keen to get another “slice” with them, but their signup procedure refused to create me an account. In fact I couldn’t log in into Slicehost with my previous account anymore, that was blocked when I canceled my “slice” subscription a few months ago; and I wasn’t able to create a new one, since the system insisted that I couldn’t create a new account with my email, as it was already associated with another account.
Being too lazy to write an email to the support, I just decided to give a try to Linode, which happens to be 10$ cheaper.
So far I’m quite happy with linode. The latency is probably a bit higher than slicehost, but overall very acceptable. And it’s nice to have again a vps!
To cut the long story short, the OSGi Look is, since yesterday, happily running in my Ubuntu virtual server. I gave it a new design, and I have a few ideas to enhance it. In the next few weeks I hope to migrate there also this website and my company one, that are currently hosted by Servage.
